The Schnabel Music Foundation, LLC since 2002
President and Co-Founder
Created the Foundation with Mrs. Mary Virginia Foreman-LeGarrec (Biarritz) and Ann Mottier in memory of Ann’s and my son Claude Mottier (1972-2002) to increase the awareness of the musical world to the creative musical genius of Artur Schnabel, Therese Schnabel, and their son and daughter-in-law Karl Ulrich Schnabel and Helen Schnabel. Since its inception the Schnabel Music Foundation has published two books of lectures (English and German,) correspondence between Therese and Artur Schnabel (in German) in three volumes; the complete chamber music compositions of Artur Schnabel, and nine CD titles. INDEPENDENT CONSULTANT (Mottier Consulting, Stamford, CT) since 1996
Customers have been helped in the design of optical and electro-optical systems.
- Patent: Non-dispersive infrared sensor for combustible gases that identifies the gas present.
- Design of system that tracks energy saving in high-rise building’s air conditioning system through smart algorithm.
One association has been extended into a renewable consulting contract.

Responsibilities: solve mechanical and metrologic problems using the most suitable, cost effective approach; integrate the parts in multi-disciplinary efforts to coherent overall solution.
